I hosted my first event at Lady’s Wood on Saturday the 22nd and it was a huge success even if I do say so myself!
Lady’s Wood Shooting School hosted their first ever Femmes Fatales event on the 22nd of July, and the day was a huge success even if I do say so myself! Femmes Fatales is a not for profit ladies shooting club started in 2014 and their aim is to get like minded women together. Those with a love for fashion, high heels and lipstick, but also the smell of gun oil. These girls are not afraid to get their boots muddy whilst slaying clay!
You can find out more about Lady’s Wood and what they can offer here.
Lady’s Wood is like home to me as this is where I first picked up a gun, so to be asked to host an event for them was an honour! I was so excited to get started with organising prizes and getting the word out; I knew I wanted to make it a day to remember.
We had exceptional support from some amazing companies and had an array of prizes for the day. Our high gun prizes were donated by Hyde & Hare and Feather & Cartridge and we then had a raffle for the other prizes which included some other greats such as Evemy & Evemy, Emma Brown Tweed, Mackenzie & George, Gamebird Designs, The Game Chef and House of Cheviot.
I just couldn’t spend a day at Lady’s Wood and not shoot so I went out with the ladies and took part in the 5o bird competition followed by the moving archery. The high gun prize was the overnight bag by Hyde & Hare. O-M-G this bag is amazing!! It is on my Christmas list.
The day brought together ladies from all backgrounds and walks of life, and with varying amounts of experience with shooting; including one lady who had never picked up a gun before! She was BRILLIANT! I am a massive advocate for ladies shooting and encourage anyone who has not tried this amazing sport to pick up a gun and give it a try.
SPOILER – You will become hooked!!!
I never thought hosting an event would be as enjoyable as going to one as a gun but I was so wrong! I loved spending time with the ladies and sharing in their experiences. Many had never been to Lady’s Wood before, and to get to shoot as well was the icing on the cake.
The event was such a huge success that we are now planning our second event at Lady’s Wood for later this year. Keep visiting my blog or Instagram for updates.
